I always get so excited seeing a property get developed and hearing nothing but great things from its fans. I never got into Alvin Schwartz's trilogy of books when I was a kid, but the fans of the series have told me this is a premiere event in horror; an excellent team of storytellers adapting from excellent source material. So colour me extra excited this morning, as we just got our first look at the terrific poster for CBS Films' SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK.

Pictured is the super creepy scarecrow Harold, whom I'm sure gets up to all sorts of violent shenanigans in that cornfield. Excuse my lack of knowledge on the character, but as I said I've never read Schwartz's books.
The Autopsy of Jane Doe director Andre Ovredal is helming the feature with none other than Guillermo Del Toro producing. Those are some good credentials.
What say you, rebels? Excited to see Harold tear shit up, straw style? SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK hits Irish cinemas in August. Look out for the trailer this Sunday.
